Friends!
Not the TV show: I don't watch TV.

I made many of my good friends in college from the staff at ARCH and especially from Detling House, the dorm floor I lived on for three years. Detling is where I met three of my closest friends. The four of us call ourselves femtøAST. Don't ask me why. I do have other friends (believe it or not), but they're not full-fledged Arachnerds yet, plus I doubt you really care. If you do care, here are a few of my friends who do happen to be on the 'net.

In no particular order ...

Beth Black, my wife, who finally has a Web presence!

Dean Huff, Ed Albrecht, and Chris Gorrilla, the fine men of femtøAST, are three of my best friends. We're scattered across the country now, pursuing our lives as best we can, but a common bond (we think it's the weak nuclear force, but preliminary data are inconclusive) holds us together.

Kim Stahl, fellow ex-Detlingite and perniciously stubborn woman (now also a lawyer, watch out!), is married to Dean Huff, a femtøAST friend, as noted above. They have a child, Alan.

All Hail Das ÜberChang! Johnny Chang is special because, like me, he was a combination ARCH employee (Manager, actually) and Detlingite. Can't beat that. He's married to mutual friend Kim Chestnut.

Beth Fischi and Allen Varney are two smart, fun, interesting people I met while living and working in Austin. Both are published writers but even so manage to make enough money to take trips around the world, their last being a safari to Africa.

Drew Cohen, Macintosh advocate and political pundit, is an acquaintance of mine from ARCH (when it used to be called the CRC). He's moved on to bigger and better things, but we still manage to keep in touch occasionally.

... and with many omissions.

Many such omissions are due to stale links, causing me to delete reference to otherwise perfectly good people. If you're a friend (or would like to be), send me your URL!
